Hebrew Class Humour

It is well known in seminary that taking Hebrew is not exactly 'a walk in the park'. This semester, we are down to 5 people taking the course(of which 1 is auditing). As part of the class, we do some translation exercises. Though we are now able to recognise some of the words and the forms, it still takes us a while(We look forward to the day when we can do it on the fly) and we still feel like we've accomplished much after doing 4-5 sentences.

This evening, after doing a couple of sentences -one of which was rather gruelling, one of my classmates humourously commented 'Thank God for Bible scholars who translated for us. Imagine taking 1/2 an hour to figure out ONE sentence of the bible every time we attempt to read it. We should seriously appreciate the English translations that we have. Thank God for the Hebrew scholars!'

And the rest my classmates went 'Amen'. *grin*
